MAGNETIC PARTICLE INSPECTION
The process of electrically inducing fields in ferro-magnetic substances, and detecting the flux leakage at the site of the discontinuities. Primarily used for discovering surface and near-surface defects.

12- FOOT WET MAGNA-GLO UNIT
This 6,000 amp wet magna-glo unit with a secondary 2,000 amp coil is capable of accommodating parts ranging from one inch to twelve feet in length, and up to 24 inches in diameter. The production rate is approximately 1,000 pieces per hour, and utilization of the secondary coil operation enables us to perform head and coil inspections simultaneously on the same unit.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
Large shafts, rods, gears, forging, castings, broaches, machinery ways, landing gear struts.

CONVEYORIZED TWO-SHOT MAGNA-GLO UNIT
The conveyorized two-shot magna-glo unit has an automatic coil, de-magnetizer and conveyor, to maximize handling and increase production rate. Maximum production rate is 1500 pieces per hour.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
High volume parts such as bolts and screws, connecting rods, spindles, steering arms, wing attach fittings, and tank tread end connectors.
CONVEYORIZED DUO-VEC WET MAGNETIC PARTICLE UNIT
The conveyorized duo-vec unit induces a Vector (multi-directional) field which detects both longitudinal and transverse defects.
This specially designed unit is well suited for irregular part configurations on a wide variety of pieces up to 12 inches in length.
This method combines the head and coil shots, thereby eliminating one inspection step, increasing production rates, and cutting costs.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
Connecting rods, steering arms, suspension components, small forgings and castings.

MOBILE MAGNETIC PARTICLE UNITS

These units may be equipped with a wide variety of NDT units as required by the customer: Magnetic Particle AC and DC units up to 4,000 amps, Penetrant equipment and materials capable of fluorescent and constant dye inspection, portable ultrasonic and X-ray equipment. Combining this equipment, we can schedule a multiple approach to your materials, and discover both surface and sub-surface discontinuities. We are available for on-site inspection of power generating turbines, boilers, pressure, vessels, structural weld joints, crane assemblies and hooks, handling equipment and pipelines.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
Preventative maintenance, corrosion surveys, on stream inspection, in process inspection and in-service fatigue testing.
